Children are an important part of the worship experience here at SBCRC. Children from preschool through first grade are invited to begin the worship service with their families. They are then invited to the front of the sanctuary for a children's message. Following the message, they are invited to go to one of the following:

TLC or "The Little Children" is a play-oriented worship experience for three and four year old children. Click here for the list of stories and teachers/helpers for the current months.

CWC or "The Children's Worship Center" is for children ages five through 1st grade. It is structured as a worship service: gathering in God's name, hearing God's Word, giving thanks, and going out to serve in his world. CWC invites children and their leaders to experience and respond to the biblical stories of God and his interaction with the world. We also have Boys Club and Girls Club (click for more information). And click here for our policies on Children at the Communion table.

We provide church school before the Sunday morning services during the school year--typically from September through May. A nursery is also provided during this hour of story and singing. Classes begin at 9:15 AM.Classes begin at 9:15 AM.  At 10:00 AM the children gather in rooms 4 & 5 to sing lively songs that are fun for everyone involved! At 10:15 they are released to attend worship with their parents. Most classes have less than 10 students who are led by 2 trained teachers that alternate weeks of teaching.

We seek to provide safe childcare during all of our worship experiences and  the other events hosted at SBCRC. Our church has many young children, and the infant and toddler nurseries are often bustling with cheerful activity Both nurseries are located directly behind the sanctuary, and several nursery attendants watch children in each room.  The nurseries are kept clean, are well stocked with clean toys, and are safe. Click here for the nursery schedule.

The infant nursery is  equipped with cribs for young ones to take a nap.  Additionally, there is a private room in the infant nursery for nursing mothers. The toddler nursery has a reading corner, a play kitchen, a climbing area, lots of toys, and a table for snacks. When parents drop off their children at either nursery, they sign a sheet giving information and  check out a pager in case their child needs them during the worship service.
