For the past five years every Sunday we meet on the field behind Tarkington School at 2:00 for competitive Ultimate Frisbee. That’s right summer, spring winter fall; snow and rain we play. Our goal is to create a time of fellowship in a competitive but friendly environment where everyone is welcome to come learn, laugh play as a team.

Ultimate Frisbee is played with two teams on a field similar to football, with end zones at either end. The goal of the game is for each team to pass the Frisbee down the field from player to player until catching it in the end zone for a point. Once the person catches the Frisbee they must remain stationary while throwing to the next person. The defensive team tries to block the throwing of the Frisbee and tries to knock the disc down or catch it before the person they are guarding does.

This is a coed non contact sport for ages over 13. We choose teams based on speed and skill, so that both teams are equal. This also puts people of like skills opposing each other and makes the game competitive on different levels.
